Farther away

By canoe, bike or foot... The Zemminsee and the surrounding region are a part of the Dahme lakes region, where there is a growing network of bike paths, hiking trails and waterways. We have kayaks and bikes available here. Larger groups should let us know about their needs in advance so we can accommodate everyone.

If you want to effortlessly explore the many lakes and idyllic waterways and their undeveloped banks, take a lake cruise with Dahme-Schiffahrt-Teupitz. Chartered trips, of course, allow guests to board directly from the Rankenhof dock.

And don't forget... When the temperature drops and with it some rain, there's no reason to regret the passing of the lazy days of summer. It's the season for mushrooming! Expert mushroom collectors already know this, but our region is a mycologist's paradise.

We are happy to connect you with experienced naturalist guides who can explain the diversity of the Dahme Heidesee nature park to both adults and children in an accessible and playful fashion.

We especially recommend hiking the "Lesefährte Waldweisen". This 20 km track takes you through the world of literature highlighting natural forested spaces - of course, in the forest. You will discover lecterns atop of pine logs marked with scores used to collect resin. The artist, and incidentally our friend, Wolfgang Georgsdorf developed this public art installation in collaboration with the Hammer District Forest Service. If you're feeling less ambitious, there is also a beautiful and shorter 3 km loop.

There's a wide variety of other inviting options: a llama trek, horseback riding in Teupitz, a relaxed round of golf in Motzen, maybe the outdoor museum of an early Germanic site in Klein Köris or even wakeboarding and later sipping cocktails at their Funplace bar, or just skip the wakeboarding. Just ask us, we're happy to help.
